Arctium lappa / Burdock root. The name seems to originate from the Greek arktos meaning bear which is presumably due to the rough coated fruits and from Latin lappare which means to seize and refers to the way the burs attach themselves to passing animals as a means of propagation. Is used as an alterative ( a herb that “cleans” the blood). So for skin conditions and as a general Liver tonic. For Liver damage from alcohol or drugs.
